Heyy everyone,
after a really long bus ride, we finally arrived in Hastings. Everyone was tired but also super excited to be there. At first, we had some free time to look around and explore a bit. Then, it was time to meet our host families.
For us, things were a little chaotic at the beginning because our original host family had to cancel last minute. But it wasn’t that bad, because another family also had to be switched, so in the end, we stayed together as a group of five students. When we arrived at the new house, the family welcomed us really nicely.
They showed us around the house, and we even had our own bathroom, which was honestly amazing. Their son, Stanley, who is about ten years old, showed us everything and played table football with us. That was very funny.
In the evening, we had dinner together. They cooked chicken with vegetables – potatoes, beans and carrots for us which was actually delicious. After dinner, we played a bit more with Stanley and also with their dog, Ernie. He was super cute and friendly.
Overall, the first day was a bit stressful at the beginning, but it turned out as a nice start to our trip.
