Second day in England we went to Canterbury. Our first stop was the Canterbury cathedral, the “heaven on earth” for the Anglican Church.

At first we had no tour guide, because something went nat as planned. Spontaneously a woman, originally from France, jumped in and showed us around in the cathedral. She told us about the history of this building, it’s architecture, and how the appearance changed over the time. We also learned something about Thomas Becket. He was the archbishop of Canterbury and also the chancellor of England.

After all we have to say, that this is a great place, where you can learn very much about the history of England, the Anglican Church, the architecture of the cathedral, and how the life in a cloister was.
